Dear Young Artists,

 

Exciting news! The Linn County Pioneer Association (LCPA) invites all budding artists to showcase their talents at the upcoming Student Art Show, part of the 137th Pioneer Picnic celebration. Get ready to unleash your creativity in any medium you desire, including painting, photography, mixed media, drawing, and sculpture!

 

This year's theme is, "Pots 'N' Pans and Apple Jam," and we encourage you to find inspiration there, or in the rich history of Linn County Pioneers. Whether it's capturing the essence of pioneer life or embracing the delightful theme, let your masterpiece leave an impression. 

 

Separate categories for elementary, middle school, and high school students ensure that your unique talents are recognized. Awards await the top three in each bracket, with special 3 special categories, People's Choice and LCPA Choice and most Janky! Judging will be done by a panel of impartial artists. Awards will be sponsored by The Frame Shop, Janky Bird, and the Benevolent Order of Antelopes.

 

Remember to submit your artwork to Janky Bird at 134 Spaulding St. Brownsville by June 1st. The community display will run from June 1 to June 22 at Janky Bird, and public voting will take place during this time. On June 21, your artwork will move to Pioneer Park to be on display during the Linn County Pioneer Picnic. Judging will conclude at noon on June 22nd, followed by an awards ceremony.

 

If your artwork earns 1st place, People’s Choice or LCPA choice, or most Janky, you have the option to extend its public display at Janky Bird for an extra month. Otherwise, please pick up your masterpiece on Saturday afternoon. Uncollected artwork will be stored at Janky Bird for 30 days, after which it will be disposed of.

 

Don't forget to attach a label to your artwork, including student name, parent or guardian's name, grade, artwork title, medium used, and a contact phone number. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen artwork.
