2021 Porch Parade

Get your creative juices flowing and start preparing for the 2021 Porch Parade on June 19! Our theme this year is "Homesteading Oregon," and we're excited to see what you come up with. Decorate your porch and/or front yard per the theme. Sign up to be on our map for free by emailing lcpa1887@gmail.com. Then we'll release a map with all of the participants' locations and the community will drive around and check out the displays. Get involved, add to the 134th Pioneer Picnic, and share some positivity. We look forward to seeing you all at a distance!

2020 Reverse Parade

In 2020, COVID-19 restrictions make it impossible for the Pioneer Picnic to have its traditional Grand Parade through town. In an effort to celebrate Pioneer Picnic, which is the oldest annual continuous celebration in Oregon, the Linn County Pioneer Association and Central Linn Lions Club are inviting you to take part in our “Reverse Parade” on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. This unique event is an opportunity for you to decorate your home or business as you would a float in the parade following the theme of “Pioneer Farming”. So the community and our judges can visit your display, please register your home or business with the form available below and mail it to PO Box 57, Brownsville OR 97327 or email it to lcpa1887@gmail.com. Registration forms can also be found at Brownsville Pharmacy. You can opt out of the judging OR having your business or home listed on the public map. Please register your business or home before August 3 rd at 5:00PM to be added to our tour map.

Follow the instructions below and HAVE FUN!

1. Decorate your home or business and Celebrate Picnic the week of August 9-16.
2. Follow the following criteria if you want your display to be judged on August 15:
Originality: Judges the overall creativity and originality in the design and concept.
Craftsmanship: Judges the quality and complexity of the workmanship.
Entertainment Value: Judges the displays “wow factor.” Judges will consider the elements such as color, sound, and motion.
Interpretation of the Theme: This category judges the display’s interpretation of the theme “Pioneer Farming.”
3. Awards will be given for a Home and Business as: Court’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, Picnic Director’s Choice and the People’s Choice.
